      The bench in great for our bedroom, and taller than the specs-- it's 20" tall which is perfect at the end of our bed. From the picture I suspected that or I wouldn't have ordered it. The only down side is that there are a number of staple imprints on the outside of one of the legs. Otherwise it is sturdy and went together in a matter of minutes. The leather is really nice and I think will wear well.

            I originally purchased this item to be used as a coffee table/ottoman in my family room. When I received it, I realized it was too high for that use, so I moved it to the foot of our bed. It is perfect there as a bench to put shoes on, etc. It is beautifully made for the price and was very easy to put together. The screw holes were perfectly lined up and went together like a dream. I highly recommend this item as a bench only.
